little fertig by Ph.J. Maul

This little letter scale has the M-logo of Philipp Jakob Maul at the cylinder shaped mass of the extra pendulum. Between the vertical legs of the character M the name of the model is engraved also: Fertig. The distinguishing mark of this scale, a smaller version of the earlier presented specimen FERTIG, is the indicator designed as an extra pendulum arm. Placed on a slope the chart will rotate to a new resting position, but this type of indicator simply follows the chart to this new zero position. A separate leveling zero adjusting screw is not necessary with this design of letter scale. The chart of 100 grams has a measure stripe for each gram. The old weighing limit of 15 grams is engraved on the chart. D.R.P. is stamped in the arm of the indicator, this is short for Deutsches Reich Patent, indicating that a German patent was granted. Look for more patent and other information at the page of the taller FERTIG. Below some more pictures of this little letter scale.
