This letter scale was designed by Gerhard Gohl from Stuttgart, Germany. An American Design patent with the number D288,672 was granted to the well-known scalemaker Jakob Maul GmbH. The patent dates March 10, 1987 and was valid for a period of 14 years. Under the name Herlitz the scale has a range of 500 grams. Jakob Maul itself made the scale with a range of 250 grams. The scale was sold in different colors: cream-white, black, dark brown, bordeau red and blue. The transparent chart with print can be shifted at the down left side to set the zero at the indicator. Below some more pictures of this letter scale.
