Westa balance | This is a modern, somewhat kitsch-like version of a balance. On an oak base the equal-arm balance with top-pans is mounted. There are no separate bearing bushings applied in the casted frame. The vertical black indicator arm is made of plastic...... There are no brass stops under the vertical links of the mechanism to protect the wood surface. The weights lowered in the wooden base are 5, 10, 50 and 2x 20 grams. At the bottom are 4 white foamed rubber discs. The horizontal link has engraved the name WESTA and W.GERMANY. The same maker also produces a version with a little drawer in the oak base. Below some more photos of this letter balance. |
