This colourful letter scale was made by Pelouze Scale Company, Evanston, Illinois, USA. The letter scale is named model X-1. The design dates from 1985. To make things easy, the scale also shows the starting date of the postal rates: effective February 17, 1985. These rates were valid until April 3, 1988. Therefore this scale dates from the period 1985-1988. The range is 16 ounces. Subdivided per half ounce. The housing is of plastic. The bottom plate is made of magnetic steel.
