This foldable little scale is made by Technical Equipment Corp., N.Y.C., U.S.A. I still did not find a patent, it was applied for and probably was also granted. The hinged box is made of brass. The chromed scale isn't magnetic. It's a solid made scale with a chart indicating in ounces and in grams. The scale itself weighs 400 grams. The range is 8 ounces and 220 grams. The indicating needle is rotatable and is fixed in the proper position by an adjusting screw operated by hand. After opening the box, the mechanism of the scale is folded out by shifting. The plate is taken out of the lid of the box and put on top of the mechanism of the scale. To prevent clanking, some rubber stops are mounted on the inside of the lid.
