This letter scale bears the name GEM. The scale is shown in the Triner catalog of 1910. The scale made of cold rolled steel could be ordered finished in black enamel, or oxidized copper or full nickel plated. The scale was delivered boxed at a price of 1.25 USD. The letter rate of 3c per 1 oz. for first class presented at this GEM letter scale, was valid in the period November 3 1917 till July 1 1919. But also again from July 6 1932 till August 1 1958.
