This is a solid chromed hand-held scale. The name is Anchor scale. The similarity in shape is clear. The capacity is four ounces. Concise American postal rates information is given at the left side of the scale. The postal rate for letters of 2c per ounce was valid in the period from July 1 1919 till July 6 1932. engraved on the scale is: pat. pend. The box presented below probably is not an original one for packing this scale. I know a photo of an original packing on which the following recommending text:
Here's the finest Postal Scale for package or for letter
Accurate, precise and neat, nothing could be better.
Of a size that you can take wherever you may go,
Then, just when you need it, the postage rate you'll know.
