Bilateral letter scale

This Bilateral letter scale is a nostalgic replica version of earlier bilateral scales made by Jakob Maul. Look at the 60g/250g bilateral, or the 100g/500g bilateral, or the 250g/1000g bilateral. Also a variant with cream-colored charts exists, see the 100g/500g bilateral scale. A view parts are made a bit too modern: the poises with sharp edges and plain flat fronts. The simple glued on charts, sadly enough not shaped concav as done in the original design.
The chart of 60 grams has a stripe per each gram, this is far too many. The 250 grams chart has a stripe per five grams, this results in an easy to read chart. This design is still part of the product range of Maul. Elsewhere on the internet brand new specimens of this replica letter scale are still for sale as well.

This scale has the present logo of Jakob Maul. The old JM-logo was used until January 1983. Therefore this replica is never older than 1983. The back has the Dutch text "NIET VOOR HANDELSDOELEINDEN", meaning: NOT FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES. The black powder coated base has the French text NON VERIFIE PARL'ETAT. The last E of VERIFIE should have a little stripe: VERIFIÉ and a space after PAR is forgotten. Below some pictures of this letter scale.
