letter scale

This letter scale most probably was made by Ph.J. Maul. The scale lacks the logo of the firm, also the name Fertig is not present. The abbreviation D.R.P. Ang. on the mechanism indicates that a German patent was applied for. This letter scale has the characteristics of the Fertig, a letter scale design made by Ph.J. Maul. More details are presented at the Fertig. A scale of this design is self adjusting to zero on a slope, it doesn't need an adjusting screw. The mechanism has the text: DÉPOSÉ, with a little accent on both E's. This déposé indicates the design of this scale was registered. The letter scale is mounted on a base of black glass and is standing on four graceful spherical shaped little feet. The chart of 100 grams shows one stripe of measure per gram. Below some more pictures of this letter scale.
