MAIL METER

This letter scale was made for Chadwick-Miller Boston Mass. USA. It was made in Japan. JAPAN is engraved in the back of the poise. The box and the label tell us it's No. 14241. The chart has a stripe of measure per half ounce. The capacity is 16 ounces. The scale also shows the postal rates. It looks like the former owner updated the rates by glueing a new postal rates label onto this scale. This postal rate of 6c for 1 ounce was valid in the period January 7 1968 - May 16 1971. I'm not sure there is an older label underneath this one but I don't want to remove the visible one because it will probably get damaged. Below some more pictures of the Mail Meter.
