model P1, maker Pelouze
Letter scale made by Pelouze, Evanston, Ill. USA. The housing is plastic. It has an adjusting knob at the top of the housing. The capacity is 16 oz x ½ oz. It has the postal rates of 1st Class, 3rd Class and International Airmail except Canada and Mexico. In later years Pelouze removed the International rates from the dials and only printed the Domestic rates. This because the Domestic and International rates were not always increased at the same date. It was a way to limit the number of dials one needed to purchase. In other years the model P1 was made in a different color, in 2004 it was Dark Gray. Below some more photos of this model P1.
