Pesola combined letter scale | This is a combined letter scale made by Pesola AG from Baar, Switzerland. The scales needs to be mounted level on a wall. Then a carefully adjusting is needed with the help of spanners by turning the nuts at the top of the housing. In such a way that the weight of the receptacle for mail is fully compensated by the extension spring and it results in the pointer is indicating the value zero. The postal scale at the left side is for heavier mail pieces up to 1000 grams. The letter scale right is suited for mail up to 100 grams. The receptacle for mail items used here is not original, but has been reconstructed based on some pictures. The extension springs are just visible in the windows.
Remarkably, the scale measure lines do not stop at 1000 and 100 grams. No, on both scales there is an extra line: the pointers could indicate 1010 or 101 grams respectively. In order to use the 100 grams letter scale one has to attach the receptacle to the hook of this letter scale. | Pesola combined scale |
