Salter's letter balance No. 10 | This letter scale, a letter balance, made by Salter from England is still complete with its original weighing pan. This scale with the pan is already presented in the Salter catalog of 1898. In the catalogs it is letter balance no. 10. This version weighs up to 1 kilo and up to 1000 grammes. The left side of the scale is subdivided into quarter kilos and the right side is subdivided per ten grammes. The designation grammes on this letter scale will be made for a French speaking market. Salter already started in 1899 to make scales with a continental distribution in kilos. The length of the letter scale, together with the pan is about 36 centimeters. The brass front is connected by four bolts from the back to the iron scale housing. The tension spring is mounted with pre-tension.
