letter scale, maker unknown
Sharpo brievenweger

This letter scale bears the mark Sharpo on the counterweight. Sharpo was a Swedish firm in stationery. The frame and chart of this letter scale are aluminum. The other parts are not magnetic, presumably from nickel plated brass. Only the axes are magnetic steel. This letter scale has, thanks to the foldable counterweight two ranges: 100 and 1000 grams. The 100 grams scale, has a stripe for each gram. On the 1000 grams scale, there is a stripe per fifty grams and, moreover, every 50 grams is subdivided per 10 grams with a checkered belt at the bottom edge of the chart. The Sharpo looks similar to a scale model previously displayed, see letter scale with bakelite plate, only the frame of that letter scale is sharper angulated. For fine zero adjustment an adjustment screw is available in the fixed support foot.
