Poseidon letter scale | This wall mounted letter scale has the name Poseidon and comes from Sweden. The letter scale has two weighing ranges. The lower pivot belongs to the inner scale, which is for lighter items up to 20 grams. At 50 grams is a stopper. The outer scale combines with the upper pivot, is for heavier items and ranges from 0 to 500 grams. This copy is missing figures and printed graduations. Left on the front of the letter scale is advertising the firm Timmerle Färgeri A.-B., a firm that colors and bleaches fabrics. At the right are the Swedish postal rates. The dating of this letter scale is tricky because I can not find the similar rural letter rate for 250 grams and 500 grams, both are 60 öre. Presumably this scale dates from the period 1942-1948. | back of the scale |
