WMF letter scale

This letter scale is made by the Württembergische MetallwarenFabrik, from Geislingen, Germany. At the bottom is the WMF mark in the form of a horizontally striped beehive containing a window with a picture of an ostrich and the letters WMF and below these letters the letter G. This logo was introduced July 1, 1909 and specifically applied to products intended for France, it was used until about 1914. [sources: Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork from Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik 1906 and Marks of European Silverplate: WMF].
The 50 grams scale has a stripe of measure per each five grams. In the zone of 10 to 20 grams every gram is provided with a stripe. The scale and the dainty base are made of brass. The base is weighted with lead. This lead has the logo, see the picture. This letter scale seems entirely protected by a transparent layer of lacquer.
