Bizerba letter scale

This 8.6 kilos heavy letter scale also was not intended for domestic use but was intended for use in German post offices and for use in mail rooms of larger companies. The mechanism of this letter scale is compact and complex. Put the mail item on the top plate and the pointer moves to the right. When it weighs more than 100 grams, swith to the next weighing range of 100-200 grams by pressing down the lower button [with the arrow] and shifting it to the right, repeat this step by step until the pointer moves in a range to the left and holds at an intermediate value. There are ten positions for this lower button. For scale values above 1000 grams one must rotate the triangular knob. The scale has twenty weighing zones of 100 grams and weighs per gram from zero to 2000 grams.
It is a Federlaufgewichtswaage. [literally: a spring-shiftingweight-scale]. Which current weighing range is switched in action by the lower knob can be seen in the two small windows of the dial. The triangular knob is also used to lock the mechanism during transport. This letter scale also has a damper filled with silicone oil. This damper is locked also during transport by the same triangular knob. At the right side of the scale down right is a lever to open and close the damper. Also placed at this side -down left- is an adjusting screw to regulate the pointer to zero. At the lower left of the front is a spirit level situated. At the left side of the scale this letter scale has one adjustable foot. At the right it has two fixed feet. A lead zone at the lower end of the front has a German verification office stamp. This letter scale has the same measuring scale on the back, the customer can follow the weighing and watch the result. On the back is also a yellow round sticker of a German gauging office with the indication that the verification is valid until 2005. The scale housing is mediocre,
