Prior postal scale | This letter scales has two weighing ranges. The upper scale has the postal weight limit values 20 and 50 grams. Range switching is done by pushing one of the buttons at the right front of the scale house. The lower scale has the postal weight limits of 100 and 250 grams. The colored bands of the upper scale even indicate the permitted exceedance of weight. The supplier is Prior Weegtechniek from Boskoop. This Prior letter scale is a more complete version of the simple one weighing range letter scale presented, see this Prior. As mentioned there this scale design can be found on the market under several trade names: Bizerba, Hartner, Maul, Pitney Bowes, EBA, and as presented here Prior. It is an accurate letter scale with a fixed foot and two adjustable feet, and a spirit-level to establish a level scale. At the left side of the housing is an adjusting screw to put the pointer to zero. A red rotating knob at the bottom enables securing the mechanism during transport. Hidden centrally under the top plate is a chamber for lead pellets, this is used for fine tuning the letter scale at the factory. Some versions have magnetic damping. This letter scale is calibrated and is sealed with a lead. | back of the scale |
