Sécuritas coin checker | This coin balance s made by Sécuritas from France. The brand name is registered. The balance is intended to check French coins of 5, 10, 20 and 100 Francs. The scale comes in equilibrium when the right coin is put in the corresponding slot. In case of a deviating coin weight no balance is reached, or the scale tips over to the other side. In absence of French Francs there are some other leftover coins from the holidays in the picture. In France this balance is called balance à monnaie. An attempt to look into the validity period of these four French coins in order to date this balance did not really work. The big variation in mint materials and coin sizes made it too difficult for me. Presumably, the period is 1950-1958.
