This is a fairly old letter scale. Characteristic is the counterweight position: below the arc of the scale of measurement. The wooden base has two fixed brass feet and one adjustable foot. With the latter the letter scale can be adjusted to zero. In the 1908 catalog of Kistler similar scales are presented with the weighing ranges 50g, 100g, 150g, 250g and 500g. Those scales have stripes of measure per each gram. On this letter scale with a weighing range of 60 grams there is a stripe of measure per each five grams.
