August Sauter precision balance | This balance was manufactured by the firm August Sauter from Ebingen in Germany. It is not a letter scale but a precision balance for use in laboratories, pharmacies and for use by dentists, jewelers and clockmakers. The balance is under No.412 in Sauter catalogs, including the years 1948-1951-1960-1962-1965-1967. In the catalog of 1979 the version and the factory plate are slightly different. The dishes with a diameter of 80 millimeters can be removed. The lever at the center front serves to set the balance in rest or free. 2 Millimeters on the scale corresponds to 10mg. The weighing range is 100 grams. The weights are 50g, 20g, 2x10g, 5g, 2x2g, and 1g. The milligram weights are stored under a glass cover. To the right is a slot for a pair of tweezers, it is no longer present here. |
