This yarn scale was made by Branca from Mercallo, in Varese, Italy. The scale has No. 1861-33. The factory still knew the production date: January 7, 1974. Branca no longer makes yarn scales. With this yarn scale the weight per square meter of a yarn sample with fixed dimensions is measured. The yarn number can also be determined. The scale is in Nm x 100m and goes from 10 to 1. According to a table of Branca 1 corresponds to 100.00000 grams and 10 with 10.00000 grams. This yarn scale is mounted in mini ball bearings. The maximum height of the scale is 51.5 cm. It is best to move the yarn scale by grasping the scale on the round black knob.
