the Paper Life Limited paper balance | This is a luxury paper balance made by Paper Life Limited, of Wakefield, Yorkshire in England. The paper scale with two pairs of templates for cutting the paper to be tested to the correct dimensions is in a sturdy wooden case. The case with carrying handle and a fabric-covered bottom can be detached in two parts. Before use, the scale must be folded up and secured in this vertical position with a slide. The scale arm must be detached from the plastic retaining surface. The needle of the paper scale must be set to zero with a large adjusting wheel. The test paper of 10 x 10 centimeters is hung on the sharp hook and the scale can be read on the scale. When using a test paper of 5 x 10 centimeters, the reading should be multiplied by two. The paper scale is therefore suitable for weighing paper up to 600 grams per square meter. | the paper scale in the open wooden case |
