Deering precision scale range 10 gram / 50 Carat | This high-precision scale is one of the most recent mechanical scales. The advance of accurate cheap digital scales, especially from China, put an end to their production, this despite the fact that the production already took place in Taiwan. This scale has two US patents: US4,744,428 from May 1988 on the design of the scale and design patent D307,354 from April 1990 on the design of the plastic scale box. Earlier, in July 1976, Deering had also taken out a patent on a slightly different plastic precision scale, namely US3,968,849. The production of that design had become too expensive and therefore the scale shown here became the successor. The dimensions of the black plastic box are 133 x 75 x 24 millimeters. | the loose scale parts |
