This small letter scale comes from a box with (post) office supplies for children. It is part of an old luxury toy. Such boxes were marked with PAPETERIE if it came from the company N.K. Atlas from Paris. And POSTE ENFANTINE or SUPER-POSTE was printed on boxes that came from the company Transcar also based in Paris. The boxes contain all kinds of writing materials, forms, envelopes, fake money coins and bills, stamps, stamping ink, postage stamps, erasers, a mini-globe, or a map, and so on. Similar boxes can be found in Germany under the name KINDER-POSTAMT.

This letter scale goes on the lower scale from 0 to 20 grams and on the upper scale from 20 to 50 grams. The height of the scale is 10.3 cm, the foot diameter is 5.8 cm and the letter plateau is 5.3 cm round. Its own weight is 31 grams. The mechanism does not have the usual pull rods but works with push or pressure points.
There are also variants in these toy versions: letter scales with a rectangular base or with a rectangular letter plateau.
