This nickel-plated letter scale stands on a pewter base. The letter plateau shows, barely legible, German postal rates, the "Porto-Sätze". These probably date from the period 1900-1906. There is no zero adjustment screw. The scale mechanism probably comes from Philipp Jakob Maul. The measuring scale goes up to 50 grams and is subdivided per gram.
The letter tray is 5.2 centimeters round. The foot is 8.4 x 7.2 cm. The scale is 13.2 cm high.
Perhaps a self-zeroing model Fertig originally stood on this scale base, that seems a better combination.
