old french letter scale

This letter scale comes from France. The letter scale is nickel-plated brass, the letter holder is folded from a single piece of round brass wire. The two pillars with screw thread at the top perpendicular to the stand are made of magnetic steel and now rusty. The large round wooden base of this scale is very strange. I have not seen an identical specimen, perhaps it is a well-made replacement. The pointer is made of magnetic steel and seems to be a replacement. The shape is reminiscent of a clock hand. The scale has a threaded end at the bottom of the stand and is thus fixed to the round wooden base.
On the scale up to 50 grams, in addition to the stripes per 5 grams, there are two striking smaller stripes, namely at 7½ and at 37½. The letter post weight limit of 7½ gram was used in France until January 1, 1862. This version is therefore probably from before 1862. Only in postal traffic between France and Great Britain (from 1833) and between France and Prussia (from 1837) was the rate per 7½ grams and the letter post weight limits used were 7½, 15, 22½, 30, and 37½. An indication for the unit of measurement gram is missing on this scale.
This scale model has previously been shown on this website, see here. That specimen is made of bare brass. The value 22½ is on the letter scale there, but is missing on the scale shown here.
The height of the letter scale is 18 centimeters, the diameter of the nickel-plated scale base is 4.7 cm. The largest diameter of the wooden base is 13.3 cm, the base is 2.7 cm high in the center and 2.3 cm high on the outer edge.
Below are some more images of this old French letter scale.
