Solo scale | This (letter) scale is not complete: the plate, or the bowl, is missing. A few different forms of bowls can be seen at the pictures at the bottom of this page. I don't know whether these forms are original or not. The Solo has four! pendulum arms. The two light ones are permanently interconnected. At choice one couples one or both other loose heavy pendulums to the lighter arms. This setup makes the SOLO a scale with three ranges of weighing: 250 grams (no arms joined), 1.5 kg (= one heavy pendulum arm -at the front- coupled) and 3 kg (= both heavy pendulums coupled). The red chart of 250 grams is used when no heavy pendulum arms are coupled. The layout of the chart is odd, mostly the heavier range is placed at the outer edge. waxing, result in an enormous improvement of the appearance. In Meten & Wegen, 2002, September 2002, no. 119, at pages 2824-2825, R.J. Kok gives also a description of the Solo. He as well doesn't know the origin. At the chart of 250 gram each gram has a stripe. At both other charts there is a stripe per 25 grams. Below some more pictures of this SOLO letter? scale.
