ARCA 500

This letter scale was made by Jakob Maul and is the lightest version except one in a range of scales with the name Arca. The capacity in grams is worked up in the name: this is the Arca 500. The lightest version is the arca 125. The heavier models are the Arca 1000 and the Arca 2000. Even a 10 kilo version exists. The scale has a chart in grams and in ounces. The front has a gold colored ornamental frame. The base is also colored gold. The tin housing is sprayed solidly in green. The chart is made of aluminum. The bottom is covered with a cardboard on which a soft foam layer is glued. The scale mechanism has a tension spring. The spring tension can be adjusted with the nut placed on top of the housing. The chart of 500 grams shows a stripe per each gram up to 60 grams. Above 60 grams a stripe per ten grams is given. The chart in ounces has a stripe per eighth part of an ounce up to 2 ounces. Above 2 ounces a stripe per half an ounce is given. The capacity in ounces is 18. The back of the house shows an ornamental striping. The right side of the house has the JM logo of Jakob Maul.
