SAV-A-STAMP | This SAV-A-STAMP letter scale weighs up to 4 ounces. It's the successor of the SAV-A-STAMP by Thorne-Foster Inc. The postal rates are at the frontal side of the scale. The back surface is kept totally bare. The scale has the maker's name: A. Browne Co. and the US-patent number 2,060,064. The patent was granted on November 10, 1936 to John C. Fryer. The postal rate of 3c for a letter was valid in the period 1932-1958, the 8c for airmail was valid from 1944 till 1946. So, this scale dates from the period 1944-1946.
