scale with aluminum plate | This letter scale has no marks. The frame and almost all the parts of the mechanism are made of magnetic steel. Only the lower short unpainted mechanism bar is made of aluminum. The dark green paint does not seem to be the original coating. The round plate is of aluminum. The connecting pin is missing. A parker screw does the job. The lead counterweight is hided in an aluminum case. The range of this letter scale is 500 grams. The chart shows a stripe every 5 grams. The realized direction of reading the scale is logical: from left to right. The letter scale has a brass screw for the zero leveling. The frame is vulnerable and doesn't stand firm. I don't know the maker or the country of origin. However, the model of the frame appears to be identical to that of the Lindells letter scale, that was presented at an internet auction some time ago, See the photos below. | rear view |
