Well-known is the scale made by the French scale-maker Narcisse Briais, with his initials N.B. at the front of the scale. Before a slightly different German design of Ph.J. Maul was presented. Also a entirely similar American version of the Cross Pen Company was presented. The specimen presented here does not have a trade-mark or logo. Odd is the GRAM. indication below the value 5. The 100 grams chart has a stripe of measure per each gram up to 15 grams. Above this there's a stripe of measure per 5 grams up to 80 grams. Finally there's a stripe of measure per ten grams.
