LIBERTY letter scale | The cardboard rates chart reads LIBERTY POSTAL SCALE. This letter scale does not have any marks at its metal parts. The chart is clamped at the scale by a chromed frame. A transparant hard plastic layer protects this chart. The name Liberty is printed in several catalogs of Triner Scale & Mfg. Co. Chicago, Ill. U.S.A. The given rates could be useful in determining a date to this letter scale. But I still don't have sufficiently detailed lists of American postal rates. U.S. First Class Mail is separated here in Local and Other Points. The range is two pounds (Lbs) and the range is subdivided per halve ounce (oz). The primer of this letter scale is a dark brick-red. On top of this, an egg-shell gold color is given. The indicator, both paralleled arms and the bottom of the base are kept brick-red. | back of the scale |
