Waymaster letter scale, England
"Waymaster" letter scale, England

The "Waymaster" is a simple letter scale from England. It was presumably made by Precision Engineering Co. (Reading) Ltd.. The scale house and letter plate are aluminum. At the rear, on top of the housing is the knob to set the pointer to zero. the English postal rates for letters are on the left of the scale. This was valid in the period May 1, 1940 until May 1, 1952. The weighing range is 8 ounces. Per ¼ ounce there is a stripe of measure.
Previously, a much larger Waymaster has been shown, see here. That postal scale was made by Precision Engineering Co., hence I assume the letter scale shown here was also made by them.
Below some more pictures of the "Waymaster".
