Columbus Bilateral letter scale

This letter scale named Columbus Bilateral was made by Philipp Jakob Maul from Hamburg in Germany. It has two measurement scales one from zero to thirty grams and one from twenty to hundred grams. The M-logo of Ph.J. Maul is engraved on the two short parallel arms of the weighing mechanism. A scale base of stepped concentric round discs was also applied to another model of Ph.J. Maul, see here. The Columbus Bilateral model, and also with the indication Original Columbus Bilateral, was made in many different versions, for example in brass, nickel-plated, black lacquered. Even up to weighing 10 kilos. See for other Columbus Bilateral models here or here, or here.
