asparagus scales | This scale is especially for weighing asparagus and comes from Philipp Jakob Maul from Hamburg in Germany. Only the shape of the weighing platform differs from the already known letter scales, see for example here and here. According to a Ph.J. Maul catalog from the 1930s, the asparagus scales was available in four ranges: 50 grams, 100 grams, 150 grams and 250 grams. This asparagus scales features the M logo of Ph.J. maul. Below it is the abbreviation D.R.G.M. in full Deutsches Reich Gebrauchs Muster. That is a design protection, faster and cheaper than a patent. The 50 grams asparagus scales is 13 centimeters high. | back of the asparagus scales |
