Petrus 118 letter scale | This letter scale has the model name Petrus 118 and is made by Industrias Petrus S.A. from Barcelona in Spain. in full: Fabrica de articulos metalicos para oficina maquinas y grapas de uso industrial. There appears to be a Spanish patent in the name of Industrias Petrus with the date November 19, 1975 and the patent number ES216768U. That patent shows a version with a folding counterweight and thus has two weighing ranges. The figures of the patent are very similar to the Regent, a letter scale by Jakob Maul. The Petrus 118 has a scale of measure with a horizontal top flank on the left and right, and no sloping flanks as on the patent drawings and on the Regent. The Petrus 118 letter scale has just one weighing range of 250 grams. This copy was intended for use in the Netherlands. The scale in grams also shows the Dutch postal rates valid in the short period February 1, 1967 to February 1, 1969. In addition to the rates for letter post in the Benelux, there are also rates for printed matter and samples, and letter rates to France, Italy and Germany on the relatively large scale of measure. | back of the letter scale |
