a two piece blue desk set made by Jakob Maul from Zell, Germany |
the JMAZ letter scale with a perpetual calendar with a notepad | This two-piece desk set was made by Jakob Maul from Zell in Germany. The parts are offered separately in the catalog. Various combinations are therefore possible. These desk items are available in various colours. I saw versions in red and in black, both with nickel plated edges. Also in grey-blue metallic with gold colored edges, see this set. The blue version shown here I did not see before. Jakob Maul made his perpetual calendar loose, or combined on a base for pens with or without inkwell, or as shown here with a notepad holder. I miss catalogs of Jakob Maul to get a good overview. I can no longer find the German patent of this perpetual calendar. I did find the patent of a subsequent model described in DE954744 from 1956. The base with the notepad has no logo or indication of DRGM or DRP. This letter scale model by Jakob Maul was protected in 1931 with patent DE555627 and in 1934 an addition was added with patent DE616859. The weighing range of this specimen is 100 grams. | the JMAZ letter scale with perpetual calendar and a notepad |
On the previous page, see here there is a heavier specimen that weighs up to 250 grams. There is also a loose perpetual calendar, an ink blotter, and a combination of an inkwell with a pen ridge. Below are some more images of this two-piece blue desk set by Jakob Maul.
