airmail letter scale, EM Avion | It is still unclear who made this airmail scale. The scale comes from France. This letter scale is specifically intended for airmail, hence the addition AVION under the EM logo. The weighing range is 50 grams, up to 40 grams the scale has a stripe of measure per gram, above that per five grams. Earlier, a normal letter scale with a weighing range up to 350 grams was shown by the same maker, see here. This letter scale has the same bakelite weighing housing with an EM logo without the addition AVION, the logo is between horizontal stripes. Another difference is the screw bolt in the middle of the back of the scale housing, with which the movement of the mechanism can be blocked to protect it during transport. There are versions of the EM AVION airmail scale with a similar rotary knob on the back of the weighing housing. | back of the airmail letter scale |
