letter scale up to 50 grams

This is a simple letter scale with only one range up to 50 grams. The frame is constructed of folded sheet steel sections joined with rivets. The swivel base is also made of folded steel. The frame's shape resembles the old cast iron frames, see this one for example letter scale and this letter scale. It is likely that this letter scale was made by Philipp Jakob Maul in the more recent period, 1930-1940. The mechanism is made of brass. The enamel scale has graduations of half grams up to 50 grams. On the left side of the scale is Grm., an abbreviation for the gram unit; on the right, only D.R.G.M. 168741 is shown. D.R.G.M. stands for Deutsches Reich Gebrauchs Muster, a cheaper and easier to obtain design protection, compared to protection with a patent. Unfortunately, D.R.G.M. 168741 did not yield a correct match at the German patent office.
