ECOSOL letter scale

This bussiness present, designed in 1992, is a paper-weight It has a second function: the weighing of letters. The paper-weight function is performed much better then the letter weighing function. The written limitation given at the scale: for C5 en C6/5 only is not sufficient. The slot in which the letter has to be placed is not wedge-shaped and is too wide to ensure an unambiguous weighing of a letter, again and again. The letter easily falls out of the slot in several directions. Only letters with a sufficient thickness which are placed in the slot with a proper tight clamping, could be weighed unambiguously. For this, the letter should be placed such that the centre of gravity stays as low as possible during the weighing. Of course, it a goodlooking design object, especially because of the variegated transmission of light. The material applied is Acryl.

The model of this letter scale resembles a lot that of the letter scale of Tamussino, see for yourself at page specials. This letter scale is even more simple: there is not a separate indicator. Both scales are hardly usable. Below some more photos of this letter scale.
