dietary scale SALTER No. 11D

The Salter No. 11D is a spring balance made specially for weighing food for diabetic patients. The housing is relatively lightweight because it's made of aluminum. Also the easy to lift round scale is made of aluminum. The black transport box was available for an additional price. This travel weighing scale for diabetics is already in the Salter catalog of 1928. It still is shown on pages of the 1939 catalog with a slight alteration: there the dial is double marked: 8 oz. subdivided per 1 dram and also -probably for people of the European continent- 220 grams subdivided per 2 grams.
The characteristic outline of the housing is already known of other Salter scales, see for instance the letter scale Salter No. 11. Also the flower decoration on the housing is already known of Salter, see this Salter's letter scale.
