black Art Deco letter scale by Jakob Maul | The housing of this letter scale has a beautiful front due to the pattern of stripes and the symmetrically placed window with the chart. The back also has the beautiful striped pattern and a chrome edging. The scale stands on a black glass plate. The bottom has a furniture protective layer. This letter scale fits in the Art Deco period from 1920 to 1939. This scale has a handle on the top of the housing for switching the range of weighing. As desired 100 or 250 grams. The chart of 100 grams has a stripe per each gram. The 250 grams chart is subdivided per five grams. The chart can be rotated with the knob situated at the right side of the house to adjust it to zero. This side also has the logo JM and a D.R.P. indication. The Deutsches Reich Patent with number 676942 was granted on December 25 1937. It mentions Dipl.Ing. Fritz Scharmann as the inventor. The patent was announced on May 25 1939 and was published June 15 1939. These scales were made by the company Jakob Maul, from Zell in Germany. | back of the letter scale |
