Salter letter scale up to four ounces

The Salter pocket scale has been described several times, see 4 oz, 8 oz, again 4 oz, 2 springs 4 oz, and also this 150 grammes version. There is some more information about Salter there. The Salter pocket scale shown here is also a two-spring example and is very similar to this one two springs 4 oz, only the color differs and on the back of the copy shown here is the text MADE IN ENGLAND.
The scale shows the English domestic letter rate that applied in the period May 14, 1923 to May 1, 1940. Over the years, Salter has made quite a few different letter clamps on this scale model. This scale model is listed as No. 31 in the Salter catalog from the period 1935-1949, see the images.
The total length measured over the retaining eye up to and including letter clamp is 118 millimeters, the dimensions of the scale housing are 47.7 x 25.4 x 6.4 millimeters. The weight of this little Salter is 16.3 grams.
