Originally, the Rictus (letter) scale is a model of Philipp Jakob Maul from Hamburg in Germany. Later this model was also made by Jakob Maul from Zell. The Rictus has been shown before on this website, see Rictus with brass dish, jubilee Rictus, Jakob Maul Rictus and also the black Rictus. The Faam Rictus does not bear a Maul logo, the name Rictus is also missing, and the D.R.P. patent number 384478 is also not on it.
Rictus scales come with a flat round letter plate, with a round letter plate with a central groove for rolls, with a brass plate, with an aluminum plate holder plus separate aluminum plate, and designed as an egg scale with an egg cup.
