Telub/Stathmos letter scale

This letter scale model was originally manufactured by Lindells Vågfabrik AB from Jönköping in Sweden, see Lindells letter scale. The scale is held between the thumb and index finger or suspended from a stand. A special feature of this scale are its three weighing ranges. The scale has a slotted track with three side slots into which the suspension part can be securely slid. The weighing ranges are 0-20g, 20-125g, and 125-500g. The lowest weighing range scale is read off at the sharp point of the large indicator. That scale has five grams per one mark. The middle weighing range is read off at the small triangle at the top edge of the window in the indicator. 20g, 50g, 100g, and 125g are marked. The top weighing range is read off at the small triangle at the lower edge of the window in the indicator. It has stripes of measure at 125g, 200g, 250g, 300g, 400g, and 500g. It is a solid well constructed letter scale. There is also a letter scale with two side slots and weighing ranges of 0-125g and 125-500g, see this one hand letter scale. The weighing model without the slots for two or three weighing ranges is much older; the contour of the scale is known of the Englishman Nathaniel Richard Hall. Previously some scales with the same contour were described already, see, eg, goose neck, the Let-R-Way, and the Loth letter scale. Also this Parnell, this Stauder advertising replica of the Parnell letter scale, this advertising version of Swissair, the Frans Svanström, also this Frans Svanström, and the Universal Letter Scale.
Lindells Vågfabrik AB was founded in 1902. In 1966, the company continued under new owners as Stathmos Lindell AB. In 1974, the name was changed to Stathmos AB and established in Jönköping. In 1978, Stathmos was acquired by Telub/FFV and the company name became Telub Stathmos. In 1981, Telub Stathmos merged into Flintab Vågsystem AB and Flintab Service AB. In 1981, the operations of Telub Stathmos in Jönköping were terminated. In 1998, the two Flintab companies merged. Flintab AB still exists in Jönköping, see here.
