Fertig letter scale

This small letter scale is one of the first FERTIG letter scales. The mark with the name Fertig introduced in 1912 is not yet present, and also the mark M of Ph.J. Maul, introduced in 1909, is not yet present. The word DÉPOSÉ is on the mechanism and also the abbreviation D.R.P. ANG.. DÉPOSÉ indicates a registration of the model, unclear to me is where this registration was done and what kind of legal protection this meant. The German Reichs Patent was granted August 28 1909. D.R.P. ANG. means Deutsches Reich Patent Angemeldet, this is roughly translated: a German patent was applied for. Therefore this Fertig scale dates from before Augus 28, of the year 1909. Maybe even from the year 1908. The scale has a cast iron base with just vaguely recognizable the distinguishing red copper stripes of Ph.J. Maul.
The weighing range is only 50 grams. Before several other specimens of the Fertig were presented on this website, see for instance 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
